Air management simulation for aircraft cabins

Objective

The aim of ASICA is to enhance cabin air quality for the benefit of passengers’ health and comfort, and crew working condition through Air Conditioning System (ACS) improvements. A specific attention is first given to safety and health criteria, crew working conditions and subjective criteria related to passenger comfort. Critical points of existing ACS are identified. Component modelisations are upgraded or created, and integrated in an ACS global simulation. Trade off of new technical solutions are then conducted, the effect of which on above criteria are at the end validated on hardware. The outputs are to get an advanced global ACS design tool and innovative products for any of future aircrafts.
