Objective
There are needs to reconsider the cockpit overhead panel and its environment for transportation aircraft. The objective of the project is to study a new concept of overhead panel compatible with modern avionics and exploiting emerging display technologies for the benefit of better flight safety, maintenance cost reduction, more situation awareness and improved crew-working conditions. The project deals with new architecture using digital network communication, avionics to aircraft systems interfaces and human-machine interfaces. Trade-off of new technological solutions is then conducted. Mock-up are designed, manufactured and tested on systems simulator. The study is common for future large and regional transport aircraft. Expected achievement of the project is the validation of new concept of overhead panel for future aircraft production.
