Objective
AEROMEMS II aims to undertake industrial scale wind tunnel demonstrations, engineering integration and cost/benefit assessments of MEMS flow separation control technology applied to improving the performance of wing high-lift systems, engine nacelles and turbo-machinery components . Further development of the prototype MEMS flow sensors and actuators developed under the previous EU funded AEROMEMS project will be undertaken to improve their efficiency and to address the issues of robustness associated with engineering integration. Finally, aerodynamic prediction tools will be developed and validated for use during future full-scale development. The project has 4 discrete but highly inter-linked Work Packages, involving 16 partners from industry, research organizations and academia from within 4 member states.
