Objective
Spray forming is an advanced technology of fabrication of components for the aerospace industry. It provides a route for the production of components with enhanced properties, and is the only way to process some high temperature capability super alloys that could lead to more powerful aero-engines. The absence of reliable control of spray forming causes problems of efficiency of the process and quality of the sprayed material. The approach used in this proposal to overcome these inconveniences is to establish the optimum conditions of spray forming and implement an on line control of the process. In this way, the final goal of the programme will be the improvement of the quality and cost of sprayed products. The programme will lead to an optimized processing of super alloys that will place the European Aerospace Industry in a leading position in the global market.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
