Objective
Realisation of environmental compatible processes is strictly related to the development of heterogeneous catalysts and to the waste recycling. In particular future standards for diesel fuels will require lowering of aromatic and sulphur content. Therefore, oil refining must make use of new catalytic systems. The proposal is addressed to synthesis, characterisation & testing of new catalyst to recycle light cycle oil, to clean diesel fuel by mild hydro treating. The catalysts used for hydro treating are based on us and Japanese patents. The development of novel EU catalysts is the main objective of this proposal. The work is mainly devoted to the syntheses of bimetallic catalyst using precious and non-precious metal alloys on different supports, which will be tested at lab-scale, before formulation and scale-up for pilot plant. Low cracking, resistance and hydrogenation yields will be the criteria to select supports and catalysts.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
