Interfacial guided osteogenesis in implant device

Objective

Target of the project is set-up of a new bi-layer treatment on dental and orthopedic prosthesis. This treatment should improve prosthesis osseointegration by producing the following effects: Faster osseintegration Longer life of implants Formation of a stable barrier against Ti corrosion by biological agents The coatings consist of a first TiC layer deposited according to a (Pat pend.) high energy process and a second polymeric resorbable layer containing hydroxyapacite particles and growth stimulating molecules (Pat. Pend) The expected results will contribute to the EC social objectives by - improving the quality of life both reducing the necessity of implants substitutions, and reducing the ossification time - sustaining employment, in fact this new product will increase EU manufactures competitiveness respect USA and Japan
