Objective
This project investigates the possibility of developing innovative processes for a sustaillable chemistry exploring new synthetic catalytic routes in supercritical fluids (SFCs) as alternative reaction media which provides environmental friendly approaches to improve the environmental impact of current commercial processes and be a breakthrough technology towards super selective catalysis. Specifically, this project will demonstrate the techno-economical feasibility of two classes of large- scale reactions of industrial relevance in supercritical conditions:
(1) transal- kylation of alkylaromatics and
(2) oxidation of alkylaromatics.
The use of SCFs (scCO2) as environmental friendly solvents in catalytic reactions is pointed out.
