Large area pixelized "intelligent" digital sensors for nuclear imaging in medical & industry: single crystalline cdte/cdznte, thick pixel detectors, integrated electronics, assembly in a modular set up and nuclear medecine demonstration ins

Objective

Worldwide, digital imaging for nuclear medicine and industrial NDT testing is under development. For Europe is of great importance to have access to both the semi- conductor materials, sensors and I.C. electronics which constitute the key parts of this new technology. This project has in mind over the 36 months workprogramme to fulfill these needs: large area (50.0mm indiam.) Cadmium Telluride and Cadmium Zinc Tel- lurdie SINGLE CRYSTALS, new very thick INTEGRATED PIXEL DETECTORS, made from these semi-insulating crystals (new interpretation ramo theorem + single charge collection) I.C. multichannel low noise chip; hybrid modular assembly, with all connectors. Application in a nuclear medicine demonstrator, to demonstrate the image quality improvements due to pixel effect and strong dose reduction to the patient.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
