Objective
Environmental specifications become more and severe and require development of highly sophisticated but cheap and miniaturized systems which can reliably detect air pollutants as well as perform functions such as opening or closing air inlets. In this context, the objective of the proposal is to realize the most advanced solid state metal oxide gas sensor. For this purpose, the work-programme is based on a combination of silicon micro-electronic processes and of innovative nano-particular metal-oxide materials, which will offer a high level of sensing properties, stability, selectivity, high miniaturization and a very low-power consumption. The results will be developed for portable pollution meters, for cabin air quality monitoring in automotive, for building air conditioning control.
