An organic coating for ceramic products

Objective

The proposal seeks to develop a polymer coating and decoration system for high quality ceramics. This will eliminate the need for multiple, high temperature firings and will enhance the variety and quality of decorative effects dramatically.
This has benefits in terms of
1) reduced energy consumption,
2)reduced environmental impact,
3)to determine the optimum application and curing conditions
4)to prove the system in prototype trials and
5) to demonstrate the commercial viability of the new system .
These objectives will be achieved through laboratory development, product quality testing, factory evaluation trials and business analysis. Expected results are
1) a polymer formulation,
2) proven spray application & curing systems,
3) a cost-benefit analysis.
