Development of method for protection of underground pipelines by internal application of a rapid reacting coating

Objective

Pipelines are preferably underground but at leakages this is not advantageous. A few techniques have been developed that can repair pipelines internally while keeping them underground, but still many problems exist like at pipe diameter variations, branches and bends, by local adhesion failures and decrease of pipe volume. Goal of an intended project is to develop a new innovative technology by application of a rapid reacting spray coating. Combined with innovative cleaning and on line inspection, this technique will overcome existing problems, give a two times faster protection of pipe interiors and thus safe much energy and maintenance costs. The technique will be developed for corroded steel, concrete and PVC making a broad penetration on the European market possible. Several SME-companies will combine their knowledge and experience in cleaning, coating and inspection areas and will use research measures of RTD companies to develop the system, ready for the market.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
