New white gold alloys

Objective

Today, there are no other commercial white gold alloys as alternatives to platinum except white gold alloys either with Pd (expensive) or with a little content of Ni (soon completely prohibited). Therefore, the sector of the jewellery always needs of a new white gold alloy for replacing the current not adequate Ni and Pd based gold alloys. The industrial aim of our project is to formulate a new white gold alloy by testing all the bends containing gold and other elements with whitening capacity. The innovation of this project is in the method that will be used. Effectively, the testing process will be the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) with three sources of metal in order to screen the color of different alloys by making only coated plate. This technique will permit to make very quick and cheap cartography of the color of the different ternary blends. The first step consists in only coated plates, and the second step in investment casting of the solid alloys.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
