Development of new-generation duplex coatings with improved performance. lower cost, and reduced environmental impact

Objective

ParcelCall focused on interoperability, open interfaces, and standardization for logistics in order to allow seamless tracking and tracing across the entire logistics and transportation chain. An own open and scalable system architecture has been developed and standardized. The systems consists of Mobile Logistic Server (MLS), which keep track of all transport items inside a vehicle or container, Goods Tracing Servers (GTS), who represent an interface between the ParcelCall system and the respective local IT infrastructure, Goods Information Servers (GIS), which offer access to freight data, and Thinking Tags, which are compact reusable devices, equipped with sensors, processing power, memory and capable of active, two way radio communication. The system and the prototypes have been evaluated and tested in an European field trial.
