Deliverables

A manufacturing process for producing pucks from a thermoplastic based dielectric compound. This allows an antenna puck to be produced using thermoplastic polymer processing techniques rather than being constrained by the limitations of the traditional ceramic sintering processes. Prototype parts have been manufactured. Further development is required to improve the quality and repeatability of the production processes. It is anticipated that this development will be performed by members of the consortium.
A mixing process and knowledge of the nature of the necessary components and processing parameters which enables a material to be produced that has specified dielectric properties. The material has been developed, and preliminary tests have confirmed the dielectric properties. Further development is required to improve some aspects of the material, including repeatability of production. It is anticipated that this development will be performed by members of the consortium.
