Objective
Awareness of trends in research, technology, industry and legislation is a necessary prerequisite for the planning and coordination of co- and pre-normative research and its interaction with standardization. To achieve these objectives the CEN/STAR selects the most significant themes and asks relevant organizations to arrange a workshop dealing with all the related matters. One of these workshops is dedicated to the future needs of research and standardization in the field of day lighting and glazing. The outcome of this workshop will be a overview of the current needs for new standardization developments and of the recent trends and innovations in that area, together with the identification of the most urgent topics for pre- normative research. The interested industrial sectors are: buildings, car, aircraft, glass and plastic.
