Training on production and use of laboratory reference materials for use in routine quality control

Objective

In support of quality control in routine laboratories in EU-Southern Member States and Associated States in the sector of environmental/agro/food analysis, practical training courses are proposed, with the final goal: - to help LRM production units to develop and become self-sustained (at the national and regional level); in a theoretical and practical training; participants will also prepare a LRM, the quality of which will be intercompared; the Workshop will be open to 12 additional participants from EU/Associated States; - to support dissemination of a common (multi-national) view on the use of laboratory reference materials in routine quality control (control charts) and in proficiency testing, training on these aspects is proposed ('training of trainers'), - to support national training initiatives on LRM use, organized in the respective national languages. A 'Manual on RM production' and 'Guidelines on LRM Use' will be prepared and disseminated; the latter will be translated into the languages of 4 southern EU and 2 Associated States to allow wide dissemination
