Objective
The 1st Conference of European Customs Chemists will be held in Fiuggi Terme, Italy on October 18-20, 2000. The topics of this international event will cover measurement, analytical methods and testing carried out by the Customs Laboratories of the Members States and their implementation and interpretation in the Community Policies including economic and anti-fraud aspects and consumers protection. Emphasis will be put on the mission of the Customs Laboratories as a service to the European citizens in the frame of the globalization process in industries, services and trade. The conference will consist of 4 plenary sessions and 4 round tables. The conference will also be open to Chemists from customs Labs from third countries in particular those which are in the adhesion process and to chemists from industries and private testing labs involved in products conformity controls.
