Durability assessment of sandwich panels intended to be used for roof coverings and wall finishes (ASPAN)

Objective

This proposal addresses the Growth Dedicated Call 1/00, Topic III.3. The objective of this research is to support the ongoing CEN standardization activities within CEN/TC128/SC7 and SC11. The work is being carried out by three World-recognized universities who have played a major role in the development of the existing draft standards, and by three accredited testing laboratories. These organizations have the capability to develop the necessary test procedures and to validate them. These organizations are directly supported by panel manufacturers and by EPIC and PANAMA (as the two main relevant European industry associations). The Partners have established links with both CEN/TC128/SC7 and SC11. An additional aspect to this Work Programme will be to relate the test results to observed deteriorations in panel performance in a range of climates.
