Preparation of a crm: pesticides in water. feasibility study (WARP)

Objective

The objective of the project is a feasibility study to produce and certify a reference material "Pesticides in Water". A completely new method of operation for matrix RMs for pollutants in water is proposed. Pesticides are stabilized in a dry matrix (pill). When used a pill is dissolved in water. A well-defined water solution is thus reconstituted, ready for use as (C)RM. After a Technical Meeting1, critical aspects of the preparation are tested. To ensure traceability, a Protocol on the use is prepared. A test batch (600 units) is produced, and tested for homogeneity and stability. This batch is used in an inter-comparison study, involving 16 (water) laboratories. After evaluation, a Technical Meeting 2 on the results will reveal whether future production of such a CRM will be feasible.
