Cyclic oxidation testing - development of a code of practice for the characterisation of high temperature materials performance (COTEST)

Objective

In high temperature technology materials are subjected to a complex interaction of temperature changes and oxidative/corrosive high temperature attack. To simulate this situation in the laboratory the cyclic oxidation test is the most widely used in industry. However no standards or code of practice exist. Therefore the work of the project consists in
1) quantification of the influence of test parameter variability on test results,
2) development and validation of a comprehensive and reliable code of practice for this important test with three variants representing the major industrial applications,
3) submission of the code to CEN/TC 262 as part of work item 00262140 "High Temperature Corrosion Testing" at the end of the project. The project consortium includes partners from industry and academia from 11 European countries including 2 pre-accession states and provides all the necessary key knowledge.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
