Electromagnetic compatibility of advanced rail transport signalling (EMC-ARTS)

Objective

In order to guarantee interoperability of advanced railway signaling (ERTMS/ETCS) and vehicles, the European industry is called to face the problem of electromagnetic compatibility of the above systems. The objectives of the proposed project are to characterize the electromagnetic environment in the air-gap beneath the vehicles' body, to assess susceptibility of ERTMS/ETCS signalling devices and emission of vehicles, and to provide quantitative limits for inclusion into relevant standards. The objectives will be achieved through dedicated test campaigns on signalling devices and on vehicles, starting from the in-house experience of the partners. Corrective actions will be defined where needed. The major results expected are inputs to CENELEC standards (limits for susceptibility and emission) and guidelines for manufacturers of signalling devices and rolling stock.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
