Objective
The development of an advanced and flexible inspection solution able to identify various esthetic defects on complex reflective forms, to carry out failure cause diagnosis of imperfections and to take intelligent and confident decisions in conformity with a new reference methodology of appearance defect classification, is the proposed innovative solution for resolving the urgent problem of vehicle headlamp reflector concerning quality inspection and manufacturing process reliability with important economic and environmental consequences. The completely new principle for a flexible (considering the product, production line, defect type, interfaces), nearly "universal" esthetic defect detection (considering the complexity of car reflector) device is probably the most ambitious challenge of this project able to accelerate significantly introduction of automatic esthetic defect inspection in many industrial sectors.
