Thematic network for enforcement practitioners regarding the enforcement of the quid directive by chemical testing

Objective

The European Union currently has, in the Quantitative Ingredients (QUID) Directive, legislation that is unenforceable for technical and socio-economic reasons. The aim is to organize a Law-Enforcernent Practitioners' Laboratories Network to address the technical problems associated with the interpretation of test data in relation to enforcement of the QUID Directive leading to a harmonized approach for such enforcement across the European Union at point-of-sale. The Network will consist of a total of 25 participants, including a co-coordinator who will manage a major sub-contractor and up to 20 members representing European old law-enforcement practitioners' laboratories; plus consultants, FLEP and LACOTS, and European Commission personnel. Laboratories will participate in inter-comparisons by performing analytical/interpretative work, contribute to technical discussions and exploit the new approaches to emerge from the Network.
