Decorative code for anti-counterfeiting applications

Objective

Considering the counterfeiting problems but also the need for tracking all items, the coding technologies are becoming a necessary requirement during manufacturing process. The problems are currently linked with products, which aesthetic is really important: watches, jewels, glasses, giftware, clothes... and consequently where we cannot put a black and white tag with bar code. Various existing techniques and technologies may be identified, however, satisfy the requirements in part but not in their entirety. That is why the development of new techniques of coding and authentication of products are quite important regarding the direct and indirect cost of the counterfeiting. The need has been recognized to identify or develop a series of decorative data encodable elements that can be applied to a range of jewellery, ceramic, glass and giftware products in order to provide to these products a stealth and undetectable identification code. The series of elements will be used to build up pattern or graphical features as part of the decorative process.
