A virtual institute supporting industry online in the precision engineering, micro engineering, microsystems an nanotechnologies (VISIONONLINE)

Objective

VISION addresses a range of on-line services to promote industrial growth in the ultra precision technologies, including precision engineering, micro engineering and nanotechnology. The expanding markets they serve are demanding miniaturized, more reliable and customized devices at ever-increasing rates and reduced costs. In order to minimize development time and remain competitive, European companies must take advantage of electronic commerce and of collaborating with specialized partners from different nations. They must be aware of the latest technologies and the available European facilities such that they may optimize research, product development, manufacturing processes and marketing. VISION's strategy will be to generate critical awareness and develop extensive skills such that new EU market opportunities are identified and multidisciplinary scientists and engineers are generated capable of innovative designs.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
