GEOTHERMIE MANAGER

Objective

The purpose of the project is to point out the efficiency and the technico-economic viability of a new "Geothermy Manager" system which enables to :
- adapt the quality of the heat uses to the maximum capacities of the geothermic resource, contrary to what is usually done,
- optimise the performance and the distribution technical installations working integrating all variable parameters,
- increase the geothermic recovery and reduce the exploitation costs.
The optimising approach is global :
- it aims first and foremost at optimising secondary installations, while modulating comfort according to geothermy capabilities,
- all technical and economic parameters, most particularly the ones about tarification are taken into account to improve the work of primary installations .
The main results to be expected are :

AIM
ENERGETIC STAKES (TOE/year)
. power savings 594
. heavy fuel savings 2,821
. total savings 3,415

ECONOMIC BALANCE
. overcost of the innovating project (kF HT) 19,900
. exploitation gain (kF HT/year) 3,442
. return time (year) 5,8
The application deals with the heating network in Meaux Beauval, which exploits the geothermal resource by the means of 2 doublets and provides for 8,500 homes.
In order to better manage the site, a modelising tool should be used and optimising measures should be decided upon so as to, on the one hand, increase the geothermic recovery and, on the other hand, reduce the heavy oil and power consumption :
- the modelising tool allows it users to stimulate in a dynamic way the parameters which involve any heat emission, distribution and production. It also defines the optimal regulation orders for a real time piloting of secondary and primary installations :
. to optimise the users' need for an emission of heat, especially by detecting any ambient dysfunctions, integrating the building's inertia, taking into account actual weather conditions, anticipating regulation laws and monitoring ambient conditions by the means of the return temperature...
. to optimise the function of the heatdistribution network, as regards geothermic recovery as well as any extra distribution, if needs be by setting up a daily storage and a tariff management of the power consumption.
- the optimising measures and improvements works will enable to put into practice, following the decisions made after the theoretical analysis and the modelised diagnosis :
. as regards the secondary installations, especially with their hydraulical balancing,
. as regards the substations, especially by improving the regulation and the production of the sanitary hot water,
. as regards the heat distribution network, especially by automating the working of pumps and optimising chair series,
- as regards the heat production, especially by improving the efficiency of the geothermy recovery and by setting up a supervisor automation,
- as regards the pumping of geothermal water, by reducing the diameter of the inhibitory pipe, which will enable the flow to grow from 255 to 295 m3/h.
