Objetivo
Two of the many achievements by these research groups were: the development of a new technique to derive the dispersion relation of the holes in the quantum wells; and the application of high-field electron paramagnetic resonance, developed in condensed matted physics, to the field of polymers chemistry.
As a result of this project, 102 scientists in 35 research groups for 6 EU Member States were able to undertake 58 projects in the categories of: metal and superconductivity, semiconductor physics, magnetism and soft matter.
A total of 4,682 hours of magnet time have been allocated to the various projects, averaging about 80 hours per project. This represents about 1,250 hours per year, or 19% of the site's capability. Some 53 scientific papers have been published.
The project encouraged the establishment of an informal European network between the users. During the four years of the project's duration, some 58 research projects were completed, and a further 12 are expected to be completed.
