Objective
Activity of proposed CREST Centre of Excellence is to achieve the EU transport policy goals by fulfilling priorities of the FP5 Key Action 2 of the Growth Programme. The CREST centre capacity building is aimed on preparation the railway research base to achieve expected passenger and goods mobility and to fulfil standards for environment protection in cost-effective way. The aim of CREST centre activity is also preparation of joint participation in EU 6th Framework Programme projects. The CREST specific objectives are as follows: - to strengthen links with the EU, NAS and Polish railway research centres; - to develop a network with Russian and Ukrainian railway engineering institutes; - to open research infrastructure of CNTK for leading European scientists; - to improve post-graduate courses by giving them international dimension.
