THE SECOND EU/CEN WORKSHOP ON THE ELECTRONIC HEALTHCARE RECORD

Objective

The second workshop of the EU/CEN (European Standardisation Committee) aims to ensure convergence amongst the various initiatives which are working towards the implementation of standards-based, widely applicable and communicating healthcare records. During the Third Framework programme, an AIM-CEN Workshop on the Medical Record took place, where relevant AIM (Advanced Informatics in Medicine) projects and CEN project teams could exchange interim results. The second EU/CEN workshop will be a "working workshop", with intensive preparatory work aimed at bringing strong cohesion between healthcare record users and solutions currently being developed in these projects and other important initiatives at national level, as well as standardisation proposals from the CEN/TC251 new project team(s) on the electronic healthcare record. The workshop proceedings will be published, followed by a book with the major contributions and conclusions.
