Objective
The objectives of the symposium are to bring together young and senior international researchers. Engineers, Architects, steel fabricators and steel manufactures for exchange of information and training in the safe and economical planning, design and execution of tubular structures. Internationally renowned leading scientists are invited, most of whom will be in the international scientific committee. Particular attention will be paid to aesthetics and architectural use, whereby world-renowed architects will also be invited as keynote speakers to present successful projects. This will also encourage interaction with industry.
The contents will include:
Main topics such as architecture; applications, innovative structures; fabrication, assembly and erection; repair and rehabilitation of existing structures, fire resistance. Specialised topics such as static and fatigue behaviour of connections, concrete filled hollow sections, composite tubular structures; offshore structures; earthquake resistance; development of specifications and standards; expert systems and knowledge-based systems.
