Objective
The two events of the present application will be the IX and X edition of the series of Chianti Workshops, jointly organized by the three Tuscanian Universities (Florence, Pisa, and Siena). Chianti Workshops are a worldwide renowned series of meetings, attracting all the people working in the field of nuclear and electron relaxation. They are well established as a biannual appointment to make the state of the art in the field and to discuss future perspectives and possible developments.
The study of magnetic relaxation has increased dramatically with the improvement of both technology and methodologies and is largely applied in biology, medicine, agriculture and material sciences. The study of relaxation phenomena is of basic importance for understanding the dynamics on one side and function on the other of proteins and biomolecules in general. Relaxation investigations are fundamental for the medical and pharmaceutical research. Indeed, relaxation is used in medical diagnosis and for the development of contrast agents for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
