Objective
The European Control Conferences are a well-established and highly respected series of conferences on Control and are held every other year in different European countries. Like in previous conferences of this series, the main aim of the European Control Conference 2001 is to stimulate the contact between active researchers in the academic world and in industrial development in the area of advanced control strategies and to promote scientific exchange within the European Community and between Europe and the rest of the world. The conference focuses is systems and control, in particular on automatic control. Control Systems has a decisive relevance in the growth of leading technologies and is a systems discipline that transcends the traditional boundaries of mathematics, mechanical, chemical and electric engineering.
In support of an enhanced industrial involvement of control and to the mutual benefit of both academia and industry the ECC2001 will promote topic of industrial relevance. The conference will include workshops, mini-courses, plenary and semi-plenary lectures, parallel sessions as well as round tables and discussion sessions. It is required that this conference will be an event of high scientific level. The selection of the work to be presented at this conference will then be strict. It is expected that highly reputed and well established scientists, whose scientific contributions have had major impact in systems and control will give plenary and semi-plenary lectures. As a forum of discussion of scientific issues the ECC2001 is a remarkable opportunities for researchers, in particular for young researchers, whose participation is highly encouraged, to get acquainted with the most recent developments in the field.
