Objetivo
24 months of postdoctoral fellowship for soil microbiologists at the University of Rostock, Germany.Embedded in the main research field at the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition "Fate ofantibiotic veterinarian compounds in soil" (FACIS) a research project about the effects of antibiotic veterinarian pharmaceuticals on soil microorganisms (FACIS-EOM) has to be carried out. Residues of antibiotics found in the environment are suspected to interact with soil microorganisms and to provoke the formation of antibiotic resistance. The influence of selected antibiotics on the community structure of indigenous microbial populations in soil is to investigate. A special focus has to be on the identification of microorganisms forming resistance towards the antibiotics. The position is financed by Marie-Curie Host Fellowship of the European Union for a total of 24 months. The fellow will be part of a team of young scientists working in adjacent fields in fully equipped laboratories. Innovative applicants should consist of a strong background in microbiology and soil science. A profound knowledge in the following techniques is desirable: cultivation and identification of microorganisms by means of colony morphology etc., PCR amplification, DNA sequencing, statistical data analysis. The fellow should be ready to work independent and to establish new advanced methods of molecular microbiology. Equal opportunities, particularly between women and men, are ensured. Applications with CV, list of publications and a letter of recommendation should go to: Prof, Dr. P. Leinweber,Institute of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, University of Rostoc Justus-von-Liebig-Weg 6, D-18051Rostock (peter.leinweber@agrarfak.uni-rostock.de).
