Objective
The University of Postdam seeks for three distinguished Postdoctoral Fellows. The successful candidates are supposed to conduct research in experimental physics in the Con-densed Matter Physics group of the Institute of Physics in Postdam, Germany. The research activities will be centred around the preparation and characterization of fictionalized organic thin films, in particular the growth of highly ordered sopramolecular structures via Organic Molecular Beam Deposition, and in site surface analysis techniques. We offer work on state-of-the art equipment available in our newly set-up laboratory. The positions require a high level of scientific research competence in at least one of the following fields: Organic Molecular Beam Deposition (including substrate pre-cleaning and growth monitoring), in-site Scanning Probe Microscopy (including lateral patterning) and surface analysis techniques (RHEED, LEED, Auger, X-Ray, UPS/XPS, NLO surface analysis, plasmonspectroscopy). Some familiarity with handling organic substances is advantageous. The condensed Matter Physics group utilizes a number of additional preparation and characterization methods for organic thin films. We work in close collaboration with a number of Institutes and Research Centres in Germany and throughout Europe. You are expected to be highly motivated, and capable of working in an interdisciplinary and truly international team of physicists, chemists and engineers.
