Objective
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position under the Marie Curie Development Host Fellowships programme of the European Community, at the Laboratory of Animal Physiology, School of Biology, Thessaloniki, Greece. The selected scientist will join an active research group working on intracellular signaling pathways in the heart. The project involves the investigation of the molecular control of cardiac myocyte apoptosis with special emphasis on the regulation of the Bcl-2 family proteins. The position is available for a maximum of 2 years. Applicants should have a background in cell biology and biochemistry. Previous experience in cardiovascular physiology will be appreciated. Fellows will be expected to develop techniques for the culture of cardiac myocytes, flow cytometry and separation of proteins by two dimensional gel electrophoresis.
