Characterization of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in food-producing animals.

Objective

Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania Biochemistry Research Group POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Associate to work in the laboratory of Dr Sotirios C. Kampranis on the characterization of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in food-producing animals. The post, which is funded by the European Union, Marie-Curie Host Development Fellowships, is to isolate antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains from food-producing animals and to characterize the molecular basis of resistance. Suitable applicants should be experienced in microbiology of bacterial resistance. The post is available from January 2002 for two years.
