Objective
The host laboratory have recently demonstrated a new method for asymmetric synthesis by enantioselective alkylative desymmetrisation. In this project we wish to significantly develop the potential of this method and to begin to apply the methodology in new strategies to the enantioselective synthesis of a variety of targets with interesting biological activity. The first and major part of the programme seeks to investigate new asymmetric entries to unsaturated aminoalcohols. The second part of the programme aims to develop a new enantioselective approach to unsaturated diamines.
