Employment patterns among minorities in the uk and israel

Objective

In this study, using large scale data sets, I will compare the employment patterns between the Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities in the UK and the Palestinian community in Israel. This unique comparison will allow me to examine the following question:
1)What are the employment patterns of ethnic minorities in the UK compared to those of minorities in Israel?
2)To what extent should one expect these ethnic minorities (in both societies) to have similar employment patterns?
3)What are the factors that influence the employment patterns of these groups in each society? Moreover, This comparative study will shed some light on the factors that determine the employment patterns of ethnic minorities within industrialized societies. By examining the impact of cultural background, geographical and regional characteristics and the minority status,), using a multilevel analysis, this study will tell us whether the employment Patterns of ethnic minorities are a result of their characteristics or a product of economic opportunities and social policies controlled by the majority. Also, this study will contribute to two important debates. The first relates to the debate regarding the effect of the cultural background on employment patterns, of minorities. The second relates to the debate regarding the impact of the ethnic enclave on the economic success of minorities.
