Identification, activation and regulation of matrix metalloproteinases triggering endometrial breakdown

Objective

The human endometrium is an ideal model to dissect extra cellular matrix breakdown which, when inappropriate, is a major cause of bleeding diseases. My goals are to identify matrix metalloproteinase(s) that initiate matrix breakdown, their physiological activation and matricrine regulation.
