Electronic excitations in quantum wires : confinement, local fields and excitons.

Objective

We will combine a initio and semi-empirical calculations to determine the dielectric response of quantum wires, including local field and excitonic effects. Optical anisotropy and confinement will be analyzed, for isolated and for interacting wires.
