Waste fibre recycling in concrete; development of design guidelines

Objective

The proposed research project aims to review existing information both from the host Institution and from the available literature on steel fiber reinforcement and deliver design guidelines for the effective use of recycled steel fibers in concrete construction. Waste fibers from tires are not uniform in their characteristics and, hence, a probabilistic approach is required for the development of design guidelines. The detailed objectives and methodology of this work are:- State-of-the-art report on the uses of waste products in construction.- State-of-the-art report on the uses of steel fibers in construction.- Analysis of experimental results from a study at the host Institution.- Development of philosophy for design- Development of design guidelines.- Preparation of the final report and dissemination

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
