Testing of genetically modified plants growing in contained conditions and their derivatives

Objective

I shall acquire and transfer the scientific knowledge and skills for development of methods, criteria and systems for:- identification of GM-genes, their presence, quantitative content and qualitative characteristics in vegetable products from GMP-varieties, designed for consumption by human (for the market).- designation and tagging of designed for the market vegetable food products with GM genes according to European requirements and standards.- system and forms for information of the population utilizing GMP-products.- evaluation of the risk for humans and environment by the spreading and cultivation of GMP-varieties and the use of vegetable products with GM genes content.- detection of the presence and the extent of change in the technological and food characteristics of products of GMP-varieties (compared with their initial forms). I shall learn and acquire the screening-PCR method for:
- identification of GM genes in plants of GMP-varieties and in their food products.
- evaluation of the quantitative content of GM genes along with the development of scale with the limit of the admissible amount of GM genes in plants and products of GMP-varieties.
- establishment of the qualitative characteristic of GM genes in vegetable food products.
- development of criteria for designation and tagging of the offered to the market vegetable food products containing GM-genes, synchronized with the requirements of the European legislation and standards.
- screening-PCR-method for study and control of plants of GMP-varieties and their products for presence, quantitative content and qualitative characteristic of GMgenes.
- criteria and scale for quantitative limits for GM genes availability in food production of GMP-varieties, which is harmless for human.
- criteria and manner of designation and tagging for designed for the market vegetable food products with GM genes content.-system and forms for information of the population using GMP-products.
-safety criteria by the spreading of GMP-varieties and the using of their food production (with registered GM genes content) for human and environment.
- synchronizing of methods and criteria for evaluation of the GMP-varieties and their products with the requirements of the European legislation and standards, for maximal validity of the conditions in Greece and Bulgaria, and for a part of the member-countries and/or the countries associated to the European Union.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
