In-depth training in sociological practices

Objetivo

Organised by INSTITUT DE RECHERCHE SUR LES SOCIETES CONTEMPORAINES (IRESCO), A research federation of CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE (CNRS ) in Paris ITSP IN-DEPTH TRAINING IN SOCIOLOGICAL PRACTICES Presents Sociological Practices and European Construction THE VISITING FELLOW IS TO PARTICIPATE IN TWO SPECIFIC TRAINING PROGRAMS, RECEIVE PERSONALISED SUPERVISION IN HIS OWN RESEARCH AND BENEFIT FROM FACILITATED ACCESS TO IRESCO SCIENTIFIC FACILTES.
I - TWO SPECIFIC TRAINING PROGRAMS A. " ITSP Courses" : comparing Sociological Practices In this cycle, one (or more) of its autonomous courses (25 - 30 hours) have to be validated on the basis of written abstracts, training reports or critical notes (at least one of which is submitted for publication to an international review). International equivalents are available. Three co-ordinated courses are proposed:
1 ) 'Social sciences forum' General presentation and discussion with authors of recent publications of their research practices: evolution of scientific trends, emergent priorities, methods and conceptualisation
2) 'Research Practices’: How researchers evaluate their own methodological practices evolution (both qualitative and quantitative ones) and the possibilities and limitations of each of them.
3) 'New social sciences professions'. International evolution provides new opportunities and ways of profesionalisation to social scientists: professional skills to be developed for "management", "consulting" "expertise" and "studies" will be discussed. Fellows will meet researchers and professionals in the fields of enterprise, employment, urban policies, social policies, public health, and journalism. B.
Participation in a European Research Program With an IRESCO researcher as a tutor, each visiting fellow is associated with a European research program: Comparing European Nomenclatures, Gender and Labour Market in Europe, Youth and Public Policies, Urban Policies, Public Health Policies, Social Division in the European Metropolis, Management and Enterprises, European practices in Social Sciences of Religion, in monographic studies or in relation to French and German Sociological traditions.
II - PERSONAL SUPERVISION OF VISITING FELLOW RESEARCH PRACTICES IN A RESEARCH GROUP. In-depth contacts with researchers specialised in the evolution of contemporaneous societies and their comparisons. The main research areas for comparative studies in IRESCO are public policies, urban policies, institutions, employment, labour, education, gender, culture, ethics and religion
III - FACILITATED ACCESS TO IRESCO SCIENTIFIC FACILITIES The CNRS Sociology library, data archives, seminars and conferences of research groups and.
