Pt (ii) and pd (ii) complexes with oligonucleotides and dna constituents as virus inhibitors

Objective

I would like to invite you to join our research group working in the area of nucleic acids. The research is supported by the Slovenian Government Research Programme entitled: 'Synthesis and Structural Studies of Biological Macromolecules' which is tightly connected to COST-D- 20 Programme- 'Metal compounds in the Treatment of Cancer and Viral Diseases'. We can offer an excellent training in nucleoside and nucleotide chemistry having all crucial chemicals in hand. DNA synthesizer is available next to all necessary equipment for NA structure determinations. The programme is focused on higher order molecular complexes namely on hybridization studies of appropriate duplexes, triplexes and quadroplexes mainly resulted from guanine rich oligonucleotides. Pt(II) and Pd(II) interactions will be studied either with NA constituents analogues or with specially designed and targeted oligonucleotides. Excellent NMR (600 MHz), mass-spectral and X-ray facilities will be provided for. We can certainly advertise our expertise in coordination chemistry which we perform in collaboration with other members of COST -D20 action. These positions are available immediately for the periods from 3-months up to 12 months. This training is especially recommended for individuals who want to work in bio-inorganic area on biological mechanisms of platinum drugs.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
