Objetivo
As part of the "Marie Curie Host Fellowship" sponsored by the European Commission, fellowships for doctoral research are being offered within the research group of the Centre for European Private law at the Westfaelischen Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany. "The Harmonization of Business and Consumer Law in the EU" forms the theme of the group's research and includes the following topics:
(1) implementation of Directives on business and consumer law according to the standards laid down by European community law;
(2) changes wrought on domestic law by implementation;
(3) effects of harmonization on market activities. Applicants should be postgraduate law students from countries other than Germany who are writing a doctoral thesis on a subject related to these areas of research and who would be willing strengthen our research team in Münster. During their stay in Münster, visiting fellows shall work on their doctoral thesis and at the same time receive research training within the group. Experienced researchers shall provide continuous guidance during the period spent in Germany. This includes support in practical matters (such as obtaining accommodation, using the libraries, computers etc.), as well as discussing methodical questions relating to European Community law and private law (in particular, to the harmonization of business and consumer law in the EU). Guidance in the themes of their individual theses shall also be provided. For this purpose, visiting fellows shall take part in our periodical reviews, seminars and informal meetings, in order to be fully integrated into our team. Upon request, foreign researchers can additionally take part in lectures concerning relevant legal topics or language courses at the University of Münster.
