Objetivo Description:The ISIS Neutron Facility is the most intense pulsed neutron source in the world, and the only of its kind in Europe. ISIS operates 20 neutron instruments and over 600 experiments are carried out each year by more than 1200 scientists from many nations, in disciplines ranging from Biology and Chemistry to Physics, Materials Science and Engineering. At the same time the suite of neutron scattering instruments continues to be upgraded and expanded. A project to increase the proton current by 50% from 200mA to 300mA with a corresponding increase in neutron intensity is fully funded and in an advanced stage of implementation.Researchers supported under the IHP Access to Infrastructures Programme receive the full benefit from the ISIS User Support System: expert scientific and technical support by ISIS staff, and access to all ancillary equipment and resources such as state of the art sample environment equipment, safety advice and supervision, advanced computing support.Application:Access to the ISIS Neutron Facility is supported financially by the European Community's 'Access to Research Infrastructures Action of the Improving Human Potential Programme'. Applications for this support is available as part of the normal ISIS procedure for beamtime applications and requires the completion of the ISIS Application Form. Electronic versions of the application form are available on the World Wide Web (http://www.isis.rl.ac.uk).Project Manager:Uschi Steigenberger, The ISIS Facility - Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Chilton, Didcot, Oxon OX11 0QX, United KingdomTel: +44-1235-445684Fax: +44-1235-445383E-Mail: C.J.Carlile@rl.ac.uk Ámbito científico natural sciencescomputer and information sciencesinternetworld wide web Programa(s) FP5-HUMAN POTENTIAL - Programme for research, technological development and demonstration on "Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base" (1998-2002) Tema(s) 1.4.1.-2. - Access to Research Infrastructures Convocatoria de propuestas Data not available Régimen de financiación LFC - Access to Research Infrastructures Coordinador COUNCIL FOR THE CENTRAL LABORATORY OF THE RESEARCH COUNCILS Aportación de la UE Sin datos Dirección Rutherford Appleton Laboratory CHILTON OX11 0QX DIDCOT,HARWELL,CHILTON Reino Unido Ver en el mapa Coste total Sin datos
