Objetivo Description:The EU Large Scale Facility PARABIO, established in Florence in the scientific Campus of the University in Sesto Fiorentino, is part of the cluster of Research Infrastructures for Biomolecular NMR. The uniqueness of the infrastructure lies in the widest range of magnetic fields available, which allows a user to combine the two main NMR approaches, namely high resolution NMR and relaxometry. The infrastructure is equipped with an 800 MHz spectrometer, and there are agreements to install a 900 MHz instrument. The infrastructure owns a 200, equipped with CP-MAS accessories, a 400 MHz, a 500 MHz equipped with a CryoProbeÔ, a 600 MHz and two 700 MHz spectrometers. In addition to high field NMR spectrometers, the Florence infrastructure is equipped with several instruments to perform low-field NMR studies. A high-resolution variable field instrument covers the 6-90 MHz field range. A Field Cycling Relaxometer, operating in the 0.01-50 MHz range and a prototype Fast Field Cycling Relaxometer, operating in the 0.001-20 MHz range, are available. With the EC support, PARABIO staff is working at the development of a High Sensitivity Fast Field Cycling NMR (HPRI-CT-2001-50028) that is expected to be available in one year. A parallel computer, a PCs cluster and a large number of networked UNIX and Linux workstations are available for structure determination and refinement and for data analysis in general.Application:Main results:PARABIO gave access to 49 Users from 11 countries, for a total of 952 days spent at the Infrastructure as a result of 76 visits. The spectrometer days delivered were 515, divided in 249 High-Field and 266 days for Low-Field instrumentation. The results of the projects carried out at PARABIO during the present contract were of relevant interest for the scientific community; the resulting works were submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals and constituted the basis of several Master and Doctoral thesis.Project Manager:Ivano Bertini Center for Magnetic Resonance (CERM), Via Luigi Sacconi 6, Sesto Fiorentino (Florence) 50019, ItalyTel: +39-055-4574272Fax: +39-055-4574271E-Mail: bertini@cerm.unifi.it Ámbito científico ciencias naturalesinformática y ciencias de la informaciónciencia de datosciencias naturalesciencias biológicasbioquímicabiomoléculas Programa(s) FP5-HUMAN POTENTIAL - Programme for research, technological development and demonstration on "Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base" (1998-2002) Tema(s) 1.4.1.-2. - Access to Research Infrastructures Convocatoria de propuestas Data not available Régimen de financiación LFC - Access to Research Infrastructures Coordinador CONSORZIO INTERUNIVERSITARIO RISONANZE MAGNETICHE DI METALLOPROTEINE PARAMAGNETICHE Dirección Via l. sacconi 6 c/o università di firenze 50019 Firenze Italia Ver en el mapa Aportación de la UE Sin datos
