European centre for theoretical studies in nuclear physics and related areas (ECT*)

Objective

Description:

The European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas (ECT*) offers a broad spectrum of dedicated and structured high-level activities for established and young researchers, theoretical and experimental physicists from all over the world (users). The scientific projects of ECT* are carried out under the responsibilities of the Board of Directors (Selection Panel) and with the supervision of the Director (Project Manager).
The Board of Directors conceives the scientific strategy of the Centre, implements the consequences and co-ordinates the resulting projects and activities. The Centre is based in Villazzano (Trento, Italy) in a property called Villa Tambosi. It offers ample office space and conference halls, different meeting rooms, a library and a canteen. Furthermore the Centre is equipped with computing and networking facilities, able to serve a wide range of needs, including high-performance parallel computing with a new cluster configuration.

Application:

Any ECT* Activity is open to all qualifying people (users also called participants), but is however limited by capacity control and a selection procedure. People wishing to participate can either contact the project co-ordinators or the Project Manager, the Director of the ECT*, directly. Each activity and its closing dates will be announced separately on our web-site (http://www.ect.it(opens in new window)).
