Objetivo

Description:

The LSF program at the Braun Submicron Center provides access for user groups from the EC. It covers visitors' travel and subsistence costs for periods of two weeks to three months. The program encourages visits of scientists working in regions of the community where few such research infrastructures exist. Scientists at the Braun Center are specializing in the study of mesoscopic physics in semiconductors. The center is well equipped for fabrication and measurements of complex mesoscopic structures in III-V semiconductors. Two extremely high purity MBE systems, a professional, electron beam writing system (for masks and multileveldirect write), two UHV plasma systems for etching and deposition, three UHV evaporators, an optical lithography laboratory, high resolution SEM, etc. The measurement facilities include two dilution refrigerators, 6 - 17 T magnets, the required transport measurements tools, high frequency capabilities, and a highly equipped optical characterization lab. Please note that the use of some equipment will be limited due to a large demand.

Application:

In order to apply for access it is advisable to contact us first by e-mail for preliminary consultancy. The applicant should then fill out the application form in the LSF dedicated web site () including the tentative dates in which he would like to visit our LSF. The application form will be forwarded to all members of the international selection panel (headed by Prof. Moty Heiblum from the Braun Submicron Center) for scientific evaluation of the proposal. The evaluation criteria include mostly the scientific grade, the suitability of our infrastructure for performing the proposed research. Moreover, scientists who are working in regions of the European Community where few such research infrastructures exist will be encouraged to visit the LSF. After receiving an approval of the selection panel the authorization of the European Commission is then required. The process normally takes about two months.
