Coupling of capillary separation techniques with high field

Objective

Description:

The present proposal aims at the on-line coupling of capillary HPLC and capillary electrophoretic separation techniques (CE/CZE/CEC) with high field NMR. The miniaturization methods offers great advantages over the hitherto used techniques. The development of very small NMR detection coils will lead to a situation that much less sample is required than up to now needed. The coupling of the capillary separation methods with NMR spectroscopy is very useful in the field of complex mixture analysis. Automated analysis of complex mixtures can potentially be achieved. The development of these new capillary separation techniques coupled with the most advanced NMR systems will lead to the best separation of compounds in complex mixtures and to the highest sensitivity possible. The different groups involved in this proposal are among the leading groups in Europe in their field of research. Researchers within the EU can get access to these new hyphenated systems via the two NMR EU-LSF's.
